Charge Nurse - Surgery - Full Time/DaysSUMMARY: This position is accountable for managing the overall operations of a defined patient care unit during an assigned shift. The incumbent is accountable for monitoring, evaluation, and directing patient care provided by staff, coordinating activities of the patient care unit, making staff assignments and assisting with the development and evaluation of staff members. The incumbent will assist with the recruitment and hiring of staff, evaluating staff competency and evaluating, coaching, and counseling assigned staff in concert with the Manager/Supervisor. This position practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required, Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Active California Registered Nurse licensure. Minimum of 2 years' nursing experience required, leadership experience preferred. Pediatric nurse and/or OR experience a plus. Bilingual skills preferred. Required life support certifications include: BLS heart code within 30 days of hire or transfer into position and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position.
POSITION DETAILS: Full time, 69 hours per pay period, Day shift
PAY RANGE: $49.44 - $73.00
