Per Diem Diabetic Educator RN - Endocrinology JOB SUMMARY: The Diabetic Educator-RN is a nurse who functions in the role of clinician, educator, and consultant and is working toward obtaining certification as a Diabetic Educator. This position is accountable to independently manage the complex needs of the diabetic patient, deliver patient care, demonstrate leadership skills, and serve as a resource and consultant in the area of diabetic education and management. This position practices under the direction of the designated Nurse Executive, within the scope of the California Nursing Practices Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires: A) A graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred; B) active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN); C) Certification in Diabetic Education (CDE) preferred; D) HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer into position; and E) One (1) year related experience; two (2) years preferred. Bilingual skills desirable.
POSITION DETAILS: Per Diem, days, clinic open M-F, closed on weekends and holidays.
