Charge Nurse - Hematology Clinic
SUMMARY: This position is
accountable for managing the overall operations of a defined Ambulatory patient
care clinic during an assigned shift. The incumbent is accountable for
monitoring, evaluation, and directing patient care provided by staff,
coordinating activities of the patient care unit, making staff assignments and
assisting with the development and evaluation of staff members. The incumbent
will assist with the recruitment and hiring of staff, evaluating staff
competency and evaluating, coaching, and counseling assigned staff in concert
with the Manager/Supervisor. This position
practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with
Valley Children’s policies.
This position requires: A) a Bachelor's Degree. BSN strongly preferred; B) an
active California Registered Nurse licensure (RN); C) Life Support
Certifications (see specifics below); and D) a minimum of 2 years full time or
equivalent nursing experience. Pediatric experience preferred as well as
oncology/hematology and clinic experience. Bilingual skills desirable.
Support Certifications Required: 1) HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) within
30 days; and 2) Focused Pediatric Resuscitation (FPR)
DETAILS: Full Time, 80 hours per pay period, 8-hour shifts, Monday
through Friday, weekends and holidays off.
