SUMMARY: Working under general supervision, the Administrative Assistant I is accountable for general administrative support for a department or a group of professionals. Collects, compiles and analyzes moderately complex data and information; composes straightforward written descriptions of results. Requires ability to exercise independent judgment and employ basic reasoning skills. The incumbent will use various PC software packages such as spreadsheets, word processing, graphics, databases, etc., to produce high quality reports, presentations, or other documents.This position reports to the manager or director of a recognized department for supervision, guidance and evaluation. This position does not exercise any supervisory responsibilities.Incumbents in this position have daily contact with staff at all levels within the department in which they work. They may have regular and frequent contact with staff at all levels across the entire hospital either personally or on the phone.

Experience and Education

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three (3) years clerical experience that includes data collection and compilation or equivalent combination of education and experience required

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma as accredited by the US Department of Education or GED required
